hmm, I've never used gentoo
so I'll have to take your word
on that.  Perhaps something 
similar to that Ximian RedHat
dealy would be cool.  Like
a gui installer for slackware![1]

 It is to complex. Look at the mess that is gentoo. Just because you can
do something, doesn't mean you should.
