========================================================================
2018-July-04 Buld on RedHat Enterprise Linux 7
Download RedHat Enterprise Linux 7 SRPM
http://pause.perl.org/pub/PAUSE/authors/id/P/PE/PEDWARDS/clucene-0.9.1a-1.src.rpm
build it on RHEL7 or Centos 7 with
$ rpm -i clucene-0.9.1a-1.src.rpm
$ cd ~/rpm/SPECS
$ rpmbuild -ba clucene.spec
then install with
$ rpm -i ~/rpm/RPMS/x86_64/clucene-0.9.1a-1.x86_64.rpm
Then build the Perl module in this directory
$ perl Makefile.PL
$ make test
$ make install
2004-April-05 Build on Redhat 9.3
Download and install swig-1.3 or later to /usr/local and make sure it's in
your PATH, e.g. "export PATH=/usr/local/bin:$PATH"
Build and install CLucene 0.8.9 on Linux to below $HOME/clucene_test
mkdir ~/cl
cd ~/cl
tar xfz ~/clucene-0.8.9-src.tar.gz
cd build/gcc/build
./build
Build perl interface to CLucene
cd ../../wrappers/perl
make
Test
make test
To use this beta software (no warranty implied, use at own risk)
in a production environment
1) Build CLucene as an optimized library (-O flag instead of -g when
compiling CLucene) and install the libraries to /usr/lib.
Alternatively place below /usr/local/lib, add /usr/local/lib to
/etc/ld.so.conf and run "ldconfig"
2) Install perl modules; this will depend on how your perl is set up,
but for example
cd wrappers/perl
cp CLuceneWrap.so /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/s
cp CLucene.pm CLuceneWrap.pm /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/
