	Instead we must visit the perl-* directories. But there are pairs that
	exclude each other, like the symlink 5.9.0 and perl-current-diffs.
	Up to now we have only visited 5.9.0 and not the symlink target but we
	must start to visit the other one because nobody creates symlinks
	anymore and we are already missing something that leads us to 5.10.x for
	x>0.

	So define the pairs, say mutexdirs. When both of a pair exist, visit the
	perl-* thing. But book it under the 5.* name for the perlbase.

	* Learn what the symlinks are on the other end and treat the symlink
	name and the directory name as just one object, even if it isn't a
	symlink locally. This might be a prereq for rsync-less operation.

	* Nice to have: work even when the user has not rsynced anything, just
	has an APC directory.

	Jan Dubois explained that he wants more APC metadata in modules to
	lessen the overhead for the maintainance.

	Here is one idea how we might want to proceed: add some sort of table to
	P:R:APC that overrules the directory structure where necessary. Add the
	capability to mirror tarballs from the internet into our own directory.

	The first step would be a prove of concept that fetches 5.9.0 and builds
	some 5.9.x@xxxxx. Need to find out a result, build it now and after the
	fix and the comparison would have to prove that we got the same result.

	I expect that patchaperlup needs no change because it has already enough
	magic to find out the last patch from the Changes file. buildaperl would
	have to be our main target.

	Recap: an arbitrary example tells me perl-5.7.3@17122 was on the trunk.
	According to Module::Corelist 2.13 5.007003 was released on 2002-03-05
	and reached 5.007003 => [perl => 15039], repository browser says 17122
	was made on 2002/06/08.

	In my archive I find these:

	I think this illustrates well enough that the name before the @ is
	always the perl we're building on and not the one that the patch would
	finally lead to.

	* 5.6.2 and 5.6.3 are currently both branched from 5.6.1. We have no
	metadata that tell us this fact, the program needs to know it. Rev. 124
	enables us to survive under this condition for a while, but it seems
	that we need to address this sooner or later. I expect the next breakage
	when 5.6.2 will be out. Then we will probably not be able to build
	5.6.3.
	
	At least rev 127 will be able to handle 5.6.2 both for buildaperl and
	apc2svn. To get the current state of 5.6.2, you want to call
	
	buildaperl --branch maint-5.6/perl-5.6.2 @
	
	For the record: buildaperl started to work again in rev 124, apc2svn
	seems to work before I'm committing 127. Both were not working for 5.6.2
	in rev 123. binsearchaperl also needed a special case for 5.6.2 which I
	committed in rev 130.
