What does it mean if my link shows a blank white page?

There are some sites that don’t allow their pages to be “framed” or cloaked.

You’ll know when you come across such a site because when you try to cloak it, your browser will usually display an empty page, a blank white page, or sometimes an error page.

Based on a scan of 100,000 random URLs our users have promoted, only 328 (or less than 1/3 of 1%) have this “problem”—so it’s a tiny fraction of sites out there.

Unfortunately, a handful of the “big” sites that you might want to cloak don’t allow their pages to be framed. Some of the big ones include:

Google

YouTube

Facebook

PayPal

CNN

MSN

Yahoo

Teespring

Vimeo

So if you come across a site that doesn’t allow it’s pages to be framed the solution is simple—you just have to turn off cloaking for that particular link.

In some cases—such as clicking on a PayPal link from a cloaked page—you can have the link open in a new uncloaked page using the
target=
setting of the link or
((form))
. You can see an example of this using MagickBars and MagickPops here:

Why does my pop up fire when someone opts in?

Note: The good news is you CAN still place a retargeting pixel when promoting a website that can’t be cloaked or framed.

ClickMagick will automatically detect that you’re promoting a site that can’t be framed and it will redirect users through an invisible “redirect” page containing your pixel.

Users won’t notice a thing and your retargeting pixel will be loaded, allowing you to build huge retargeting lists promoting pages on these hugely popular sites.
