DESCRIPTION

Subclass for Sophos firewalls running SFOS.

SFOS does not implement sysServices, so the device is classified by the enterprise number of its sysObjectID and this class reports its own layers. The ARP cache is served through the standard ipNetToMediaTable and is inherited from SNMP::Info::Layer3.

Inherited Classes

SNMP::Info::Layer3

Inherited MIBs

The device information is read through numeric OIDs, so that the class does not require SFOS-FIREWALL-MIB to be installed.

See "Required MIBs" in SNMP::Info::Layer3 for its MIB requirements.

GLOBALS

These are methods that return scalar value from SNMP

$sophos->vendor()

Returns 'sophos'.

$sophos->name()

Returns sfosDeviceName.0 (.1.3.6.1.4.1.2604.5.1.1.1.0) on SFOS, falling back to standard sysName.0 when it is unavailable or blank. Other Sophos devices use sysName.0 by default. Set the environment variable SNMP_INFO_SOPHOS_NAME_OID to a numeric scalar OID, including its instance suffix, to prefer a different source on any Sophos device, with the same fallback. For example, to use standard sysName.0:

export SNMP_INFO_SOPHOS_NAME_OID=.1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5.0

The variable is read when this module is loaded. An unset or empty value uses the default. When using Netdisco, set it in the backend process environment and restart the backend for changes to take effect.

$sophos->sfos_name()

Returns the configured hostname scalar directly, without the sysName.0 fallback used by name().

$sophos->os()

Returns 'sfos' for appliances whose sysObjectID sits under .1.3.6.1.4.1.2604.5. Other Sophos devices reaching this class through the bare enterprise number fall through to the inherited method.

$sophos->model()

Returns the value of sfosDeviceType.0, for example 'XGS118_XN01_SFOS'.

$sophos->os_ver()

Returns the value of sfosDeviceFWVersion.0, including the maintenance release and build, for example '22.0.1 MR-1-Build490'.

$sophos->serial()

Returns the value of sfosDeviceAppKey.0, the appliance key.

Overrides

$sophos->layers()

Returns 01001100 for appliances whose sysObjectID sits under .1.3.6.1.4.1.2604.5. SFOS doesn't report layers, so the class reports them itself, reflecting Layer 3,4,7 functionality. Other Sophos devices reaching this class through the bare enterprise number fall through to the inherited method.
