peta-analyze note.wav --key 60 # a recording (WAV)
peta-analyze --program 40 --response 55-88 --fluid # the body's resonances

DESCRIPTION

Plays one note of this synthesizer alone (no reverb, no chorus), or reads a recording, and measures it with Peta::Synth::Analysis: its level every quarter of a second, its brightness (spectral centroid), and for a note each partial's tuning in cents and its level at the times asked for, how fast it falls, and the stiffness the partials' stretch says.

With --fluid, FluidSynth plays the same note from a General MIDI SoundFont (Peta::Synth::Fluid), and what differs is shown beneath. --response plays notes across a range and shows what the instrument's body does to the harmonics, band by band.
