Revision history for Perl extension Audio::FindChunks.
0.01 Fri Feb 20 16:03:06 2004
- original version; created by h2xs 1.23 with options
-b 5.5.3 -Afn Audio::FindChunks -x wavestats
0.02 The lame reader was faulty; add --silent and an extra '-'.
Reading from a pipe would fail (such as for MP3) due to sysread vs read
Detection of a short read was wrong too...
Allow caseless match of file types...
Test that output_blocks(), output_levels() do not die too...
Add mp3 split via MP3::Splitter.
0.03 End silence was erroneously subject to min_actual_silence_sec filter.
Introduce new entries min_start_silence_sec,
min_end_silence_sec, min_boundary_silence_sec.
Examples of split_file().
In documentation: change dependencies *_sec => *_chunks.
(!!!) Uncompatible change to optional arguments of split_file().
New parameter to output_blocks(); make output more machine-readable.
Make set(), output_level(), output_blocks() return $self, thus
making them chainable: $self->set(...)->output_*()->....
0.04 Run test extraction twice (without/with tmp.rms).
make `make clean' to clean test temporaries.
Allow for shortsize > 2 and longsize > 4 starting with v5.6.0.
Correct capitalization of dB in output_levels().
Improve docs for output_levels(), output_blocks().
Test could loop indefinitely due to while (--$c) done on an FP value.
Set AUDIO_FH_TEST_UNLINK=0 in environment to keep the .wav file.
0.05 Use sysread() instead of <> to read RMS (gives better alignment).
1.00 Remove a spurious ";" in .xs.
More 5.005-compatibility fixes (# in pack, => on separate line).
More output_levels() examples.
Protect output_levels(), output_blocks() against $\.
New functions for sanity check of sizeof().
Decrease the size of subchunk to 7KB.
Add low-level debugging code.
Correct off-by-one error in le_short_sample_stats().
1.01 Protect against broken Data::Flow v1.00.
1.02 Enable remote machine-code debugging of crashes (looks like it crashes
on big-endian 64-bit machines...).
1.03 Upgrade remote machine-code debugging to v0.01.
1.04 Upgrade remote machine-code debugging to v0.02.
2.00 For pointer-conversion, append ! on pack specifier for long if supported.
Should fix the crash on 64-bit machines.
2.01 Add a test to check double_median3().
Fix a misprint in C code of double_median3().
Thanks to Arvind Srivaths who spotted this in C code! (The extra
smoothing steps were so robust that they completely hid
this error.)
Workaround for a Perl bug (Copy-on-Write not enabled on T_PV typemap, introduced in 5.19)
See http://www.nntp.perl.org/group/perl.perl5.porters/2014/06/msg216164.html
Breaks compatibility with older Perls.
Attempt a workaround (in FindChunks.xs) for the compatibility breakage above.
In typemap, change T_UV to T_PTR for pointers-as-int (avoid warning on conversion to pointer with wider-than-pointer IV).
T_PTR is already present in the oldest version (5.003_07, 1996-10-10) browsable on CPAN.
We `use 5.00503' anyway...
2.02 Update ppport.h to one of v5.22.
Test suite tests 5,19 fail on ARM. Make the output of test easier-to-debug.
Since we use newer pppport, remove the (now unneeded) compatibility hack introduced in 2.01.
Add an intermediate cast to (void*) to quiet the warning about a change of alignment (on ARM):
cast from 'char *' to 'int *' increases required alignment from 1 to 4 [-Wcast-align]
Quiet warnings (on ARM) in wavestat.[hc].
2.03: Edit ppport.h to quiet warning on MUTABLE_PTR() on v5.10.
Add more tests to help pinpoint problems on ARM and on Darwin.
Generation of sine wave was putting one cample more than expected.
