AxKit-Needs
===========

This module contains everything you need to install for a complete
running AxKit system (barring AxKit itself).

Assuming this is the first time you have installed AxKit, then
this package should be the fastest way to get your system up and
running.

Installation
============

First install the C libraries expat, libxml2 and libxslt:

 $ cd libs

All three libraries use GNU autoconf, so for each library in the
libs directory, simply enter the directory, and type:

 $ ./configure [configure options]

The configure options may need to be specified depending on your
platform.

 $ make
 $ su
 $ make install
 $ exit

Repeat this for all three libraries.

                               ++++

Next install Apache, mod_perl, and libapreq. Enter the mod_perl
directory:

 $ cd mod_perl/mod_perl-1.26
 $ perl Makefile.PL \
 > EVERYTHING=1 \
 > USE_APACI=1 \
 > DYNAMIC=1 \
 > APACHE_PREFIX=/opt/apache \
 > APACHE_SRC=../apache_1.3.23/src \
 > DO_HTTPD=1 \
 > APACI_ARGS="--enable-module=so --enable-shared=info 
 > --enable-shared=proxy --enable-shared=rewrite 
 > --enable-shared=log_agent"
 $ make
 $ su
 $ make install
 $ exit

Now install libapreq:

 $ cd libapreq-1.0
 $ perl Makefile.PL
 $ make
 $ make test
 $ su
 $ make install
 $ exit

                               ++++

Finally, install the perl modules. Enter the perl directory:

 $ cd perl

And for each one of the modules in there, enter the directory, and
type:

 $ perl Makefile.PL
 $ make
 $ make test
 $ su
 $ make install
 $ exit

Once you've done all of that, and assuming all the modules install
cleanly, then you're ready to install AxKit!
