0.3.9 2026-08-27
- Harden compiler selection by using the compiler configured into the running
Perl rather than allowing ENV{CC} to silently select a different toolchain
- Detect GCC and Clang from predefined compiler macros instead of executable
names, covering versioned and target-prefixed GCC driver names
- Keep GNU GCC on macOS on the GCC/libgomp -fopenmp toolchain instead of
mixing it with LLVM -lomp
- Stop forcing every FreeBSD compiler to Clang; use the compiler actually
configured into Perl
- Use upstream Clang's -fopenmp profile outside macOS and retain Apple Clang
libomp handling on macOS
- Prefer `brew --prefix libomp` for macOS libomp discovery, with MacPorts and
conventional Homebrew paths as fallbacks
- Make the install capability probe independent of a requested OpenMP thread
count so runtime/site policy does not cause false negatives
- Reduce high-thread-count Inline::C regression tests to portable 1/2/4-thread
checks
- Expand regression tests for compiler-family detection, GCC driver naming,
Darwin GCC runtime selection, FreeBSD GCC/Clang selection, and OpenMP macro
parsing
- Replace stale CI with explicit Linux GCC, Linux Clang, Strawberry Windows,
Apple Clang/macOS, and FreeBSD coverage
- Add a GCC 10 through GCC 16 compiler sweep using Perls built by each GCC
- Bootstrap Dist::Zilla in CI before testing the author source tree; Makefile.PL
is generated and is not stored in the repository
0.3.8 2025-04-02 20:04:34+01:00 Europe/London
- Added support for FreeBSD, using FreeBSD 14
and clang version 16.0.6
0.3.7 2022-05-14 20:04:34+01:00 Europe/London
- Fixing build that breaks when CNAME is a path to
gcc and not just "gcc" (or "cc")
- Fix breaking Darwin tests
- updated versioning to be semantic style
- updated dist.ini
