0.1.2 Mon Dec 30 09:02:57 PM UTC 2024
- initial complete version
0.1.3 Thu Jan 1 09:02:57 PM UTC 2025
- POD updates
- added error handling when "mp3Link" gets a "200 OK"
response from the server, but there is no content.
- moved "AveMara" commandline program to "avemaria,"
to match lowercase convention of most *nix utilties
- "avemaria" command with arguments will run the
equivalent of, "avemaria $(date "+%A") --pray -t"
- added the "about" subcommand
- commandline interface is not yet settled, and will
likely change somewhat based on feedback
0.1.4 Thu Jan 3 09:02:57 PM UTC 2025
- cleaned up some internal API error handling
- updated require version of Util::H2O::More so that
API error handling is more clean (>= 0.4.1)
- pinned "avemaria" client version to version of the
main Perl module $VERSION
0.1.5 Thu Jan 3 09:02:57 PM UTC 2025
- pinning to perl >= 5.10
0.1.6 Fri Aug 28 03:10:00 AM CDT 2026
- added mocked HTTP coverage for successful responses, invalid inputs,
malformed responses, transport failures, cache behavior, and MP3
response-shape regressions
- added conservative HTTP failure handling with descriptive exceptions,
a 10-second default timeout, injectable user agents, and stale-cache
fallback
0.1.7 Fri Aug 28 03:10:00 AM CDT 2026
- added a small in-memory response cache (300 second default TTL); the
random endpoint is never served from a fresh cache entry
- fixed Saturday validation in day() and fixed single-item array handling
in mp3Link()
- added avemaria --scroll presentation mode and configurable --between,
--sleep, and --speed timing controls
- added live text-stream controls: SPACE/p pauses or resumes, +/- changes
speed in real time, and 0 resets the initial speed
- added q quit confirmation; confirmed quits print "Pray the Rosary every day, +JMJ+" and restore the terminal cleanly
- added --unceasingly prayer mode to continuously repeat the selected Rosary; it implies --pray, reuses cached API data, preserves live speed changes between cycles, and remains stoppable with q or Ctrl-C
- organized CLI options by prayer mode, presentation, timing/interaction, and color; -t now enforces its documented --fully requirement
- explicit DAY_OR_MYSTERY without --pray now follows the documented
summary behavior; bare avemaria still starts guided prayer
- added traditional opening intentions: the first Our Father for the
intentions and well-being of Pope Leo XIV, followed by Hail Marys for
an increase in Faith, Hope, and Charity
- normal prayer mode now presents each decade title and Fruit of the
Mystery; --fully retains the longer meditation text
- reduced --scroll clutter by showing the overall heading once and section
headings only when a new decade begins; Mystery headings are uppercase
0.1.8 Fri Oct 2 03:10:00 AM CDT 2026
- October is a month in the Catholic Church dedicated to the Holy Rosary
- added opt-in --color output with tranquil dark-background and
light-background profiles selected with --dark or --light; --color alone
defaults to --dark
- color Mystery families consistently: Joyful light blue, Sorrowful muted
dark red/maroon, Glorious soft yellow/gold, and Luminous gentle violet;
individual Mystery titles are bold in the matching family color
- color the Apostles Creed, Hail Holy Queen, and closing O God prayer
as bold white in the dark profile (bold near-black in the light profile);
fold the closing prayer to the standard 72-column presentation width
- when --color is enabled, alternate Hail Marys between Marian blue and
a neutral foreground; each introductory group and decade starts blue
(soft white alternate on --dark, charcoal alternate on --light)
