. reverted the previous race condition, as it's causing code to hang insome cases

a PerlIO layer that adds read & write timeout to a handle

To install PerlIO::via::Timeout, copy and paste the appropriate command in to your terminal.

cpanm PerlIO::via::Timeout

perl -MCPAN -e shell
install PerlIO::via::Timeout
