DESCRIPTION

fabulous-theme-editor opens theme files of Term::Fabulous, the KDL files that "from_file" in Term::Fabulous::Theme loads, each in a tab. The left side of the screen shows a widget of every family, drawn in the theme of the tab you are on, and you can try them out: type into the fields, open the dropdown, press the buttons, open the dialog. The right side shows the theme's settings, as a form or as the text of the file. Every change shows in the preview at once.

Each FILE is opened in a tab; a FILE that does not exist becomes a new theme, written there when you save it. Without a FILE the editor starts with a new, untitled theme based on the built-in dark theme.

Press F1 in the editor for the list of all keys, and F10 (or Alt with the underlined letter of a menu) for the menus. The editor and how to use it are described in Term::Fabulous::ThemeEditor, which also shows how to start it from Perl, for example with a preview of your own program's screens.

OPTIONS

--ui-theme NAME|FILE

The theme the editor itself is drawn in: dark (the default), light, or a theme file. The preview always shows the theme being edited.

--directory DIR

The folder the Open and Save as dialogs show first when the theme has no file yet, where a new theme's unsaved text is kept after a signal (see "EXIT STATUS"), and against which the status line shortens paths. Default: the current directory.

--help, -h, --man, --version

Show the options, this page, or the version, and exit.

EXIT STATUS

0 when the editor ended normally. 1 when a signal (TERM, INT or HUP) ended it while themes had unsaved changes and their text was written to FILE.unsaved (for a new theme, untitled-N.kdl.unsaved in the --directory folder); the files are listed on the standard error. 2 for a wrong option. A --ui-theme that is no built-in theme and no readable theme file, and a FILE that cannot be read or is not UTF-8 text, end the program at once with a message (status 255).
