NAME
Module::CheckVersion::AuthorityScheme::darkpan - Handler for the "darkpan" authority scheme
VERSION
This document describes version 0.091 of Module::CheckVersion::AuthorityScheme::darkpan (from Perl distribution Module-CheckVersion), released on 2026-04-08.
SYNOPSIS
In Some/Module.pm:
our $AUTHORITY = 'darkpan:https://github.com/mycompany/my-darkpan/raw/refs/heads/master';
or perhaps:
our $AUTHORITY = 'darkpan:file:/my/darkpan';
Actually you can also use a CPAN mirror (anything that contains modules/02packages.details.txt.gz):
our $AUTHORITY = 'darkpan:https://www.cpan.org/';
DESCRIPTION
This module will parse the authority as:
darkpan:<URL>
and retrieve:
<URL>/modules/02packages.details.txt.gz
using HTTP::Tiny, then parse the downloaded file using Parse::CPAN::Packages, then check module version from the parsed information.

CONTRIBUTING
To contribute, you can send patches by email/via RT, or send pull requests on GitHub.
Most of the time, you don't need to build the distribution yourself. You can simply modify the code, then test via:
% prove -l
If you want to build the distribution (e.g. to try to install it locally on your system), you can install Dist::Zilla, Dist::Zilla::PluginBundle::Author::PERLANCAR, Pod::Weaver::PluginBundle::Author::PERLANCAR, and sometimes one or two other Dist::Zilla- and/or Pod::Weaver plugins. Any additional steps required beyond that are considered a bug and can be reported to me.
