DESCRIPTION

Rex::Interface::Connection::LibSSH provides a Rex SSH connection backed by Net::LibSSH (libssh). Unlike the OpenSSH connection type, it does not require an SFTP subsystem on the remote server — all file operations are performed via exec channels.

Use this connection type on servers where the SSH daemon has no SFTP subsystem configured (e.g. minimal containers, embedded systems).

connect verifies the server's host key against known_hosts by default — an unknown or changed key fails the connection before any authentication is attempted. A strict_hostkeycheck connect option (0/1) or the knownhosts connect option overrides the StrictHostKeyChecking / UserKnownHostsFile openssh_opt defaults; see "Host key verification" in Rex::LibSSH for the full precedence rules. Requires Net::LibSSH 0.004 or later.
