NAME

SNMP::Info::Layer3::ArubaInstant - SNMP Interface to Aruba Instant access points

DESCRIPTION

Support for Aruba Instant 8.x wireless networks using AI-AP-MIB. Inherits physical interface and system information from SNMP::Info::Layer3::Aruba. ArubaOS 10 is not validated by this class.

Required MIBs

AI-AP-MIB
Inherited MIBs from SNMP::Info::Layer3::Aruba

Interfaces and wireless networks

i_index, interfaces, i_name, i_description, i_type, i_mac, i_up and i_up_admin preserve physical interfaces and add a logical wireless interface per AP and WLAN index, plus separate radio interfaces. Synthetic radio indexes have an extra component to avoid colliding with WLAN indexes. WLAN status reflects AP status; radio status comes from the radio table.

i_ssidlist, i_ssidmac and i_ssidbcast expose each WLAN's name, BSSID and broadcast flag. Missing data does not create wireless interfaces.

Radio channel and power

i_80211channel exposes the numeric channel for each separate radio interface. Channel suffixes such as +, E and S remain in the radio interface description. dot11_cur_tx_pwr_mw converts radio power from dBm to integer milliwatts, rounding to the nearest milliwatt. The dBm interpretation follows the LibreNMS Aruba Instant implementation. No WLAN-to-radio relationship is inferred.

Wireless clients

fw_mac, fw_port and bp_index map associated clients onto their WLAN interfaces by BSSID, preserving wired forwarding entries. Clients with an unknown BSSID are omitted. No client VLAN or physical radio is inferred.

Interface methods

i_index

Returns physical indexes and synthetic WLAN and radio identifiers.

interfaces

Returns physical port names and stable WLAN and radio names.

i_name

Returns the same stable WLAN and radio names alongside physical interface names.

i_description

Returns the AP name and SSID for each WLAN, or radio number and raw channel for each radio.

i_type

Returns ieee80211 for WLAN and radio interfaces.

i_mac

Returns the BSSID for each WLAN and radio MAC when available for each radio.

i_up

Returns AP operational status for WLANs and radio status for radio interfaces.

i_up_admin

Returns AP status for logical WLANs; separate WLAN administrative status is not available from these tables. Radio interfaces similarly use radio operational status.

i_ssidlist

Returns SSID names indexed by logical interface and SSID index.

i_ssidmac

Returns BSSIDs using the same indexes as i_ssidlist.

i_ssidbcast

Returns broadcast flags from the SSID hide setting, when available.

i_80211channel

Returns numeric channels indexed by synthetic radio interface.

dot11_cur_tx_pwr_mw

Returns radio transmit power converted from dBm to integer milliwatts.

bp_index

Adds BSSID to logical interface mappings to physical bridge mappings.

fw_mac

Adds associated wireless client MAC addresses to wired forwarding entries.

fw_port

Maps associated clients to BSSIDs for joining through bp_index.
