Due to the UFT8 support this module no longer works on perl < 5.8, note this in the Makefile.PL and modules.
I managed to ship a module without Makefile.PL, WTF? Really need to start using ShipIt.

To install Text::Markdown, copy and paste the appropriate command in to your terminal.

cpanm Text::Markdown

perl -MCPAN -e shell
install Text::Markdown
