Changes for version 0.3415 - 2026-11-04

  • Windows: build
    • Stats::LikeR builds on Windows again. alloc_probe_ok(), which lets matrix(), runif(), rnorm(), rbinom() and add_data() croak rather than exit when the memory a count asks for is not there, called malloc() without the interpreter context. Every Windows perl defines PERL_IMPLICIT_SYS, under which XSUB.h makes malloc() and free() into PerlMem_malloc() and PerlMem_free(), and those need it: a Strawberry 5.42.3 smoker of 0.3414 stopped at "'my_perl' undeclared". That allocator returns NULL rather than aborting, so the croak is unchanged.
    • No Linux perl can be built with PERL_IMPLICIT_SYS, so the author's matrix script now also compiles LikeR.c with it defined against a threaded perl's headers. Against 0.3414 that reports the smoker's error and nothing else.
