libpoe-component-irc-perl before v6.32 does not remove carriage returns and line feeds. This can be used to execute arbitrary IRC commands by passing an argument such as \"some text\\rQUIT\" to the 'privmsg' handler, which would cause the client to disconnect from the server.

Changes for version 1.7 - 2001-07-21

  • Fixed bugs in my initial implementations of the irc_invite event. Sigh. You ever have one of those days where you can't do anything right? Thanks again to the exceedingly patient Rasmus Hansen for pointing out that my updated version still didn't work right.
  • Fixed a bug in 'dcc_close' which prevented it from calling 'irc_dcc_done' handlers properly.
