libpoe-component-irc-perl before v6.32 does not remove carriage returns and line feeds. This can be used to execute arbitrary IRC commands by passing an argument such as \"some text\\rQUIT\" to the 'privmsg' handler, which would cause the client to disconnect from the server.

Changes for version 1.8 - 2001-12-10

Fixed the moo.pl example script to accept multiple simultaneous connections.
Applied dngor's studly patch to throttle line output.
Fixed a bug that would cause events to get thrown away if they came in while the connection to the IRC server was down.
