NAME

stop - private built-in command wrapper for Developer Dashboard

SYNOPSIS

dashboard stop

DESCRIPTION

This private helper is staged under ~/.developer-dashboard/cli/dd/ so the public dashboard entrypoint can stay a thin switchboard.

PURPOSE

This staged helper exposes dashboard stop, which stops the managed web listener and coordinated collectors for the current runtime.

WHY IT EXISTS

It exists because runtime shutdown is a built-in operational command, but the public switchboard should dispatch to a helper while the runtime manager owns pid validation and stop ordering.

WHEN TO USE

Use this file when changing stop CLI behavior or the handoff into the runtime lifecycle manager.

HOW TO USE

Users run dashboard stop. The staged helper forwards the request into the private runtime, which stops the web process and the collectors associated with the active runtime.

WHAT USES IT

It is used by operators shutting down the local dashboard, by integration smoke that verifies the runtime really stops listening, and by runtime manager tests.

EXAMPLES

Example 1:

dashboard stop

Run the public built-in command path that stages or re-enters this helper.

Example 2:

~/.developer-dashboard/cli/dd/stop --help

Inspect the staged helper directly after dashboard init or helper extraction has populated the home runtime.

Example 3:

prove -lv t/05-cli-smoke.t t/30-dashboard-loader.t

Rerun the focused staged-helper and thin-loader tests after changing helper dispatch behavior.

Example 4:

prove -lr t

Verify that the helper still behaves correctly inside the complete repository suite.
