SYNOPSIS

alg => 'ChaCha20-Poly1305'

DESCRIPTION

ChaCha20 with Poly1305 authentication, from CryptX. A 32-byte key, a 96-bit nonce and a 128-bit tag; cipher id 4.

Prefer it over AES-GCM on hardware without AES acceleration, where it is markedly faster. It takes the same key length as AES-256-GCM, which is what makes those two interchangeable without logging anybody out -- see "Replacing a cipher" in Dancer2::Session::Pg.
