The first implementation of the ignore_diacritics option was very inefficient. It's now at least an order of magnitude faster, if calling it multiple times.

calculate the Levenshtein edit distance between two strings

To install Text::Levenshtein, copy and paste the appropriate command in to your terminal.

cpanm Text::Levenshtein

perl -MCPAN -e shell
install Text::Levenshtein
