NAME
Bencher::Scenario::ParamsSah::Compile - Measure compilation speed
VERSION
This document describes version 0.001 of Bencher::Scenario::ParamsSah::Compile (from Perl distribution Bencher-Scenarios-ParamsSah), released on 2020-05-08.
SYNOPSIS
To run benchmark with default option:
% bencher -m ParamsSah::Compile
To run module startup overhead benchmark:
% bencher --module-startup -m ParamsSah::Compile
For more options (dump scenario, list/include/exclude/add participants, list/include/exclude/add datasets, etc), see bencher or run bencher --help
.
DESCRIPTION
Packaging a benchmark script as a Bencher scenario makes it convenient to include/exclude/add participants/datasets (either via CLI or Perl code), send the result to a central repository, among others . See Bencher and bencher (CLI) for more details.
BENCHMARKED MODULES
Version numbers shown below are the versions used when running the sample benchmark.
Params::Sah 0.070
Type::Params 1.010001
Params::ValidationCompiler 0.30
BENCHMARK PARTICIPANTS
Params::Sah (perl_code)
Function call template:
Params::Sah::gen_validator("int*", ["array*",of=>"int*"])
Type::Params (perl_code)
Code template:
use Type::Params qw(compile); use Types::Standard qw(Int ArrayRef); compile(Int, ArrayRef[Int])
Params::ValidationCompiler (perl_code)
Code template:
use Params::ValidationCompiler qw(validation_for); use Types::Standard qw(Int ArrayRef); validation_for(params => [{type=>Int}, {type=>ArrayRef[Int]}])
SAMPLE BENCHMARK RESULTS
Run on: perl: v5.30.2, CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz (4 cores), OS: GNU/Linux LinuxMint version 19, OS kernel: Linux version 4.15.0-91-generic.

To display as an interactive HTML table on a browser, you can add option --format html+datatables
.
BENCHMARK NOTES
Compilation of Sah schemas by Data::Sah (which is used by Params::Sah) is slower due to doing more stuffs like normalizing schema and other preparations. If needed, future version of Params::Sah or Data::Sah can cache compilation result particularly for commonly encountered simple schemas like 'int'
, ['array*', of=>'str*']
, etc.
