SYNOPSIS

In Perl:

use Data::Unixish qw(lduxl);
$addresses = lduxl(['DNS::resolved' => {}], "example.com", "www.example.com"); # => ["example.com: 1.2.3.4","www.example.com: 1.2.3.5"]

In command line:

% echo -e "example.com\nwww.example.com" | dux DNS::resolve
example.com: 1.2.3.4
www.example.com: 1.2.3.5

FUNCTIONS

resolve

Usage:

resolve(%args) -> [status, msg, payload, meta]

Resolve DNS.

Note that by default names are resolved in parallel (queue_size is 30) and the results will not be shown in the order they are received. If you want the same order, you can set order to true (not yet implemented), but currently you will have to wait until the whole list is resolved.

This function is not exported.

Arguments ('*' denotes required arguments):

  • in => array

    Input stream (e.g. array or filehandle).

  • order => bool

  • out => any

    Output stream (e.g. array or filehandle).

  • queue_size => posint (default: 30)

  • retries => uint (default: 2)

  • server => net::hostname

  • type => str (default: "A")

Returns an enveloped result (an array).

First element (status) is an integer containing HTTP status code (200 means OK, 4xx caller error, 5xx function error). Second element (msg) is a string containing error message, or 'OK' if status is 200. Third element (payload) is optional, the actual result. Fourth element (meta) is called result metadata and is optional, a hash that contains extra information.

Return value: (any)
