NAME
Crypt::Age::Simple::Buffer - Helper for Crypt::Age::Simple streaming interface
SYNOPSIS
use Crypt::Age::Simple::Buffer;
my $buffer = Crypt::Age::Simple::Buffer->new;
$buffer->put('some data');
$buffer->put(\'some additional data');
say 'on to something' if $buffer->has_data;
say 'exactly ' . $buffer->available_bytes . ' bytes';
say 'divided into ' . $buffer->available_chunks . ' chunks';
my $bytes_ref_a = $buffer->get_bytes(5); # get at most 5 bytes
# this complains if there amount of bytes is not available
my $bytes_ref_b = $buffer->get_bytes_exactly(3);
my $bytes_ref_rest = $buffer->get_bytes;
# got too much? Give back, with optional offset
$buffer->give_back($bytes_ref_rest, 10);
# get rid of some bytes
$buffer->drop_bytes(3);
# just get data, possibly all of it
my @parts = $buffer->get_parts(1);
my @rest = $buffer->get_parts;
# search in the data
my $idx = $buffer->index_of('needle');
DESCRIPTION
This module provides a helper class for managing buffers of input data to the streaming classed Crypt::Age::Simple::Decrypt and Crypt::Age::Simple::Encrypt.
INTERFACE
The interface is object-oriented. A typical usage is adding data via "put" and then taking it back with "get_bytes"/"get_chunks", depending on your needs.
Methods:
available_bytes
my $integer = $buf->available_bytes;
available_chunks
my $integer = $buf->available_chunks;
drop_bytes
$buf->drop_bytes(10); # lose 'em for good
get_bytes
my $bytes_ref = $buf->get_bytes;
my $bytes_ref = $buf->get_bytes($n);
Gets at most $n bytes, or all of them if not provided.
get_bytes_exactly
my $bytes_ref = $buf->get_bytes_exactly($n);
Throws an exception if $n bytes are not available.
get_parts
my $aref = $buf->get_parts; # OR
my $aref = $buf->get_parts($n);
Gets at most $n parts. Returns an array reference holding references to scalars.
give_back
$buf->give_back($plain_string); # OR
$buf->give_back(\$plain_string); # OR
$buf->give_back([\$plain, \$string]); # OR
$buf->give_back($plain_string, $offset); # OR
$buf->give_back(\$plain_string, $offset); # OR
$buf->give_back([\$plain, \$string], $offset);
has_data
my $bool = $buf->has_data;
index_of
my $integer = $buf->index_of($needle);
Looks for $needle in the data, return the offset when found or -1 otherwise.
put
$buf->put($plain_string); # OR
$buf->put(\$plain_string); # OR
$buf->put([\$plain, \$string]);
BUGS AND LIMITATIONS
