AI Policy
AI tools are sometimes used for code analysis.
This has helped to identify bugs and security issues.
When the AI tools generate patches, the patches are reviewed by the maintainer of this module.
No AI-generated patches have been or will be merged without human review and intervention.
All AI-assisted code changes will be identified in the commit messages as "Co-Authored-By" or "Assisted-By", and will have a "Signed-off-by" line from the maintainer who reviewed and agrees to the changes.
In all of the cases so far, the actual changes to the module were made by the maintainer. The only AI-generated code used are test cases, and these were reviewed and modified by the maintainer.
Contributors may submit AI-generated bug reports and pull requests, so long as they are clearly identified as such, with a human taking responsibility for the submissions (which should not be submitted automatically).
People who submit code change requests are expected to full understand every line of code in the patch or pull request.
"Sloppy" bug reports or pull requests that are incorrect, or written with no regard to how the rest of the code is written, will be rejected. Repeat offenders may be blocked or banned.
