NAME

Minilla::CLI::Release - Release the module to CPAN!

SYNOPSIS

% minil release

OPTIONS

--no-test, --notest

Skip distribution tests. Both spellings are supported.

--trial

Create a trial release.

--dry-run

Run the release process without bumping the version, committing, tagging, or uploading to CPAN.

--skip-prepare

Release the version and files generated by minil prepare without prompting for or updating the version. Prepared metadata fields are preserved, while release_status and provides are finalized only in the distribution archive. The source META.json is not changed.

--pause-config FILE

Use FILE as the CPAN::Uploader configuration file.

DESCRIPTION

This sub-command release the module to CPAN.

When standard input is not a terminal, first run minil prepare VERSION, then use minil release --skip-prepare to avoid interactive version selection. If Changes needs editing, Minilla reports the problem and skips the interactive editing step, but still rewrites Changes. Actual CPAN uploading requires confirmation from a terminal and fails without one. --dry-run, FAKE_RELEASE, and release.do_not_upload_to_cpan bypass uploading and this confirmation.

ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES

FAKE_RELEASE
> FAKE_RELEASE=1 minil release

If this is your first conversion to Minilla and want to make sure you're not going to mess CPAN with a bad archive when something goes wrong, you can run the release command with FAKE_RELEASE environment variable. This will run all the other release process, except the UploadToCPAN step.

Note, this runs git tag and git push.
