Changes for version 0.002 - 2026-11-03

  • A sub called after a local $_ at the top of a list function block is no longer reported, since it changes the block's copy of $_.
  • New report_unresolved_calls, off by default: report a call in a list function block, or in map EXPR and grep EXPR, to a sub or method that the policy cannot read. With it, the bare names of the List::Util, List::MoreUtils, List::SomeUtils and List::UtilsBy functions that alias $_ count as list functions too.
  • New report_postfix_for_calls, off by default: report a call in a statement with a postfix for, to a sub that changes $_ or one that the policy cannot read.
  • New allow_calls, for those two: callees taken as not writing $_. The default is the methods of UNIVERSAL.
